As a ballet dancer, I believe that discipline and body/ spatial awareness are two key traits that truly capture the skills and qualities required to succeed in this demanding art form.

 1. Discipline
Definition: The ability to consistently follow a strict routine, maintain focus, and persevere through physical and mental challenges.
Example in ballet: Discipline is essential in ballet training, as dancers must attend daily classes, rehearse for hours, and continuously refine technique—even when fatigued or facing injury. It's a lifestyle.

 2. Body/ Spatial Awareness
Definition: The ability to sense, control, and position one’s body precisely while being aware of the surrounding space, including other dancers and stage dimensions.
Example in ballet: This skill is vital when performing in a corps de ballet, where each dancer must maintain correct posture, alignment, and shape while staying perfectly spaced in formations and adjusting to the group’s movement dynamics.

Hello Audrey,
Your choices of “discipline” and “body/spatial awareness” are spot on for ballet. I appreciated how you explained the importance of daily routines and the need for precision in group performances. Your examples were detailed and gave a clear sense of what’s required in ballet. Keep up the thoughtful work, and continue connecting your definitions to real-life dance situations!
