As you know, I had some technical trouble during yesterday's live class session (I should get it right next time), so we ran out of time to complete our final practice. Therefore, to ensure that you get to work on expressing opinions, I would like you to work on the last class practice as homework.

Homework Assignment: Group Debate

You will need to form groups of 3 or 4 and prepare to debate the following stance: “Athletes with chronic health problems should not compete in extreme conditions.”

Guidelines:

Each group should have members who will take opposing views: some agreeing with the stance and others disagreeing.

Make sure to note the opinions of your group members during your discussions. By the end of your meeting, structure your key points and prepare a summary of your debate.

Submission

Details:

Please submit one summary per group in the assigned Moodle live class session section by Tuesday, September 24.

Don’t forget to include the names of all group members in your submission.

Resources:

I encourage you to utilize the vocabulary that we came across in our reading tasks during the live class session, as well as the vocabulary glossary related to those resources. Additionally, please refer to the Vocabulary document “Debating vocabulary to express opinions”' provided in Moodle. This will enhance your arguments and provide clarity in your summary.

Have a good week

Miss Hélène
