Communication
Definition: The ability to convey information clearly, listen actively and react quickly on the court.
Example in the context of basketball: In defense, good communication makes it possible to announce screens, assists or marking changes. For example, if a player shouts “switch” during a screen, the whole team stays organized and avoids a defensive error.
Anticipation
Definition: Reading the game before it happens to make better decisions.
Basketball example: A player who anticipates an opponent's pass can intercept the ball and create a quick counter-attack. This requires a good understanding of the game and the opponent.
