ikigai personal reflection

The concept of Ikigai deeply resonates with me, especially as a ballet dancer in a professional training path. Ballet is much more than a discipline for me, it’s a powerful mix of art, physical challenge, and emotion. It demands dedication, precision, and patience, and yet it brings me so much joy.

I realize that my daily routine already reflects some aspects of Ikigai: I’m doing something I truly love, something I’ve been working on for years to become better at, and something that, through performance, can inspire others. Whether it’s in rehearsals, on stage, or even when dealing with pain or fatigue, there’s always a sense of purpose that drives me.

What struck me in the video is the idea of flow: that effortless state where passion meets focus. I often feel this when I dance. It’s not always easy, but when everything aligns, I lose the sense of time and fully connect to what I’m doing. That’s when I know I’m close to my Ikigai.

This reflection helped me realize that Ikigai isn’t only about future success, it’s already present in the way I live, move, and grow every day.
