Many of you are already taking steps to reduce your environmental impact, such as using reusable water bottles, walking or cycling to training, and recycling. Some of you are focused on reducing waste at events and in daily life, while others recognize that there’s more to be done, especially when it comes to reducing plastic use and making more sustainable choices in your personal lives.

In terms of club initiatives, several of you mentioned existing practices like offering reusable cups at games, promoting public transport, or installing solar panels. However, many of you believe that your clubs could do more to tackle environmental issues. Some of the suggestions for improvement include introducing zero-waste initiatives, improving energy efficiency, and making more sustainable travel choices, like using trains instead of cars or planes.

You also noted some challenges, such as changing habits among team members, managing logistics for sustainable travel, and dealing with waste at events. However, there are opportunities to overcome these challenges, such as raising awareness within your teams, creating a culture of sustainability, and inspiring others to take action.
