Hello everyone
I wanted to provide you with important information regarding the upcoming exam in January. Please read the following details carefully.
Exam format 1: written exam
The exam will have two class evaluation based on Mr Nicolas Carré "outil de communictaion" and on my english class. As i am concerned,you will be assessed on vocabulary and concept definition and as for Mr Carré you'll work on a case study- for more information don't hesitate to contact him)
Exam duration : 1 hour and 30 minutes long and will take place between the 6th and 17 of january in Moodle. The exam will be timed, you should spend maximum 30 minutes on the english part.
English written exam content
The exam will assess your vocabulary and your knowledge in professionnals that you as an athlete come to work or interact with:
Health care professionals:
- General Practitioners (GPs)
- Pharmacists
- Physiotherapists
- Nutritionists
- Mental coach
Physical trainers /Physical training professionals:
- Athletic Trainers
- Fitness/Personal Trainers
- Strength and Conditioning Coaches
Media and Communication:
- Journalist (interviews)
- Social networks
English exam preparation Tips
To help you prepare for this exam, I recommend the following:
- Review vocabulary related to each professional category mentioned below.
- Study the specific roles and duties of health care and physical training professionals.
- Familiarize yourself with jounalistic interview (structure, techniques; sports english idioms...ect) and social networks (definition, types of social network...ect)
- Listen to class replay videos and take all the class quizes (autonomous and live class session)
Exam format 2 : Video evaluation
This evaluation will test your ability to apply the knowledge you've gained from our lessons on journalist and more precisely, press conference interviews.
Video length duration 2-3 minutes
You will be required to:
- to record yourself and simulate a response to a press conference interview with journalists
- Demonstrate your ability to handle questions in English
- Showcase your non-verbal communication skills
Your performance will be assessed on two main aspects:
- Your ability to effectively manage a press conference interview in English
- Your non-verbal skills, which will be evaluated by my colleague, Nicolas Carré
Preparation tips:
Remember to review our lessons on Journlaist interviews, effective communication strategies, sport idioms and expression. Practice your responses to potential questions and work on maintaining composure under pressure.
