• Personal SWOT analysis

    Welcome to our lesson on personal SWOT analysis! By the end of this module, you will be able to:

    • Understand the concept of a SWOT analysis and its components.
    • Apply SWOT analysis to personal athletic development.
    • Develop and use vocabulary related to SWOT analysis and athlete development.
    • Autonomous class session to complete from 10/04 to 23/04

      Lesson access and completion

      • Lesson material release: Every thursday, new lesson content will be made available for you to access.
      • Study period: You have from thursday until wednesday, (next week) to work through the material at your own pace.

      Instruction: After watching the video, use the forum in the next section to discuss how personal SWOT analysis can be applied specifically to athletes.
       In your forum post, consider addressing the following questions:

      • What is the purpose of conducting a personal SWOT analysis for an athlete?
      • How can athletes use this analysis? 
    • Vocabulary

      Duration: 10 minutes

      1.  Think about the traits, skills, and qualities that make athletes successful in your sport (e.g.,"teamwork,"...).
      2. Post at least two terms:
      • Define each term.
      • Provide an example or context specific to your sport.

      Example "Teamwork" definition: Working effectively with teammates to achieve a common goal.

      Example in sports context: Teamwork is critical in relay races to ensure smooth baton exchanges.

      Duration: 20 minutes

      • Based on the case study, complete a SWOT analysis for Emma.
      • Use the PowerPoint template provided (or create your own Excel or word SWOT template) and fill in the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats categories with the examples of Emma's case study.
      • You will be able to access the corrections once you have completed the task.
