• Education options

    • In France, the study program is determined by the school, so you cannot freely choose credits. However, within a program, you may have some flexibility, such as selecting options or elective courses.

All the double degree programs share the following characteristics:

      • The double degree program is a 2-year, 4-semester (S7 to S10) program.
      • The first semester of mobility (S7) is dedicated to a research project in a lab. The topic will be discussed during the preparation for the mobility.
      • The last semester (S10) is a paid internship in a company. Most students in the double degree program do it in a French company, but you may choose any company worldwide

During the first semester of mobility (S7, research project in the lab), you will also need to attend a few lectures and pass exams from S5. The idea is to help you smoothly adapt to the French teaching system, make some friends, and improve your French proficiency (especially technical terms). This can also be used to address any missing prerequisites.

NB : S5 lectures are set by the Director of Studies

    • S10 Internships

One final internship (S10 semester) is mandatory. The duration is a minimum of 20 weeks (maximum 26 weeks), and it must be completed within a company, in person (remote internships are not allowed). In France, such internships are, by law, paid with a stipend. The current minimum stipend can be calculated here and should generally be sufficient to cover your expenses (housing, food, etc.).

INSA Hauts-de-France provides assistance in finding a company for your internship:

      • A list of companies that have previously hired INSA Hauts-de-France students

    • Engineer & Master diplomas

In France, all the Engineer diploma such as the one delivered by INSA Hauts-de-France, are equivalent to a (European) Master and this is formally written on the diploma. It allows students to enter a PhD program in Europe and USA (and maybe other countries).

However, this European Master is not equivalent to a Brazilian Master due to a discrepancy between the European and Brazilian systems. A Brazilian Master typically requires 1 or 2 more years.
